Bilayer on RN 14: Head to Cheriba before the end of January

As part of the construction and paving of National Highway (RN) No. 14, EBOMAF SA, the company responsible for carrying out the work, began paving the section on December 20, 2011. Following a site visit, observations on the ground confirm that the company, with its ambitious plans, intends to reach the town of Tchériba, 50 km from Dédougou, with a double-layer surface.

The modernization of National Highway 14 has reached its cruising speed: "In less than twelve (12) months of work, the double layer extends over approximately fifty kilometers (Dédougou-Tchériba), with the three major bridges at Ténado, Mouhoun, and Karouka in excellent condition." Currently, the double-layer paving phase is in full swing. EBOMAF is working diligently to meet this challenge of opening up access to isolated areas. The company is actively working on the paving of the Dédougou-Koudougou road, bringing about the benefits of improved access for the local population.

Begun on December 20, 2011, in the city of Bankuy, the laying of the double layer of asphalt is progressing steadily and surely along the 130-kilometer stretch. In just ten days of this complex civil engineering project, the company has achieved remarkable results in terms of both the specifications and the timeline. The project's completion within the allotted 30-month timeframe is now beyond any doubt.

The civil engineer and site manager, Mody N’Diaye, makes no secret of the desire to significantly accelerate the project: “Our ambition is to extend the double-layer surface to within fifty kilometers of Dédougou, that is, to Tchériba, by the end of January 2012.” A large team has been expertly deployed on the ground to achieve this realistic goal. As of Sunday, January 8th, the base layer, awaiting the final surface layer, had covered a distance of over thirty (30) kilometers.

Teams assigned to specific tasks are working in shifts day and night to ensure the continuity of quality service on this section. The second site visit by Prime Minister Béyon Luc Adolphe Tiao will reinforce the general perception of the speed with which this infrastructure, so vital to the Boucle du Mouhoun region, is progressing on all fronts. All human, material, and technical resources are being mobilized to ensure that by March 2013, traveling from Koudougou to Dédougou will no longer be an ordeal.
