EBOMAF-LIBERIA: President George Weah promulgates the convention of 250 billion CFA francs for 337 km of roads
The conquest of Liberia's BTP is taking place. This is a remarkable entry that comes with the signature by President George Weah, Thursday, June 14, 2018, of the convention that now binds his country to EBOMAF for the performance of a number of road works throughout the territory
National.
EBOMAF-Liberia was born! In a solemn act, President Georges Weah gave the Burkinabe leader of the BTP a chance to carry out his activities in his country. The first contract demonstrates both the leadership of Mahamadou Bonkoungou, President and CEO, and the dynamism of his company. It covers the implementation of three hundred and thirty-seven (337) kilometres of road projects with a total financing of CFAF 2 150 billion. This entry into the BTP shows not only an increasing desire for expansion in West Africa but also a special attention to English-speaking countries.
" It's a contract with several stakes. The first issue; It's the language. For this, we took all the necessary precautions to adapt. The second issue is that Liberia is emerging from a difficult period with many unemployed. Like Burkina Faso, young people expect a lot from the power and various contracts that are signed. The third issue is the consistency of work. This calls for more organization and determination. All in all, we'll be up to it. We have already met challenges that go beyond that. EBOMAF has human, material and technical performance. It is multidimensional and has enormous advantages. Unless there is a cataclysm, we are able to carry out without fail the project entrusted to us by the Liberian government. In 170 years of Liberia's existence, it is the first time he has signed a contract of this size. And we are well aware of the stakes",noted Mahamadou Bonkoungou, CEO of the EBOMAF Group.
An ideal partner for the liberation of Liberia
The promulgation of this first convention, Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the premises of the Liberian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Monrovia by President George Weah, is part of this saga. EBOMAF has succeeded in transcending language barriers to forge a reputation in its favourite field." This is an opportunity to work in ECOWAS with our brothers and sisters. It is with great pleasure that we welcome EBOMAF to work with us in the construction of roads. In three years we will have our very good road infrastructure. It would be beautiful for our country because we want to develop. Thanks to EBOMAF who had the courage to engage with us in this challenge. I invite him to demonstrate to everyone that he is a great and good worker to deserve the trust placed in him."President George Weah said, after having promulgated the financing agreement between the Liberian State and EBOMAF.
The promulgation ceremony was held at the Cecil Dennis Jr Auditorium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Vice-President, ministers, Senators, technical and financial partners did not negotiate their presence."President George Weah and CEO Mahamadou Bonkoungou are two great champions. Let them work. I'm sure they'll succeed."said, Alpha Barry, Burkina Faso Minister of Foreign Affairs. From his election to the Supreme Court, George Weah initiated extensive development projects.
Road infrastructure occupies a prominent place in its presidential programme. On occasion, the Minister of Public Works, Mabutu Nyenpan, declined the government's ambitions to fill the total shortfall in road infrastructure financing estimated at about US$2.6 billion. EBOMAF is therefore positioned as a leading partner in this great challenge of opening up Liberia.
