EBOMAF-TOGO : The latest adjustments before the start of work on Lomé-Kpalimé

The President and Chief Executive Officer of the EBOMAF Group, Mahamadou Bonkoungou, is personally working to remove all obstacles to the effective start of the work on the Lomé-Kpalimé road, the total release of which is a thorny question. This concern was at the heart of an emergency meeting in his presence on Tuesday, 8 June, in the meeting room of the national management of EBOMAF in the Togolese capital.

The latter grouped around the first manager of the successful contractor, the Director-General of Infrastructures, the Head of the Monitoring Mission to agree on these specific points before the start of the project.

It emerged from this that the Electric Power Company of Togo (CET) and Togocom are ahead of Togolese Waters in terms of network displacement. The CEO of the EBOMAF Group insisted that these three licensed services complete the various tasks in this direction in order to facilitate the evolution of the work. He wanted to review all aspects of this new market in order to reassure the country's first officials on the launch of the project.

Early compensation for those affected by the project also received attention. It is clear that the evaluation has been carried out and the funds for this purpose are also available. The Director General of Infrastructure highlighted the commitment of the Ministers of Infrastructure and Finance to accelerate this crucial process so that work would normally proceed after the launch scheduled for June 17, 2020.

Despite its rehabilitation in 1992, the Lomé-Kpalimé road no longer meets the Community standards laid down by UEMOA. However, this axis has been very popular since the 1930s because of the agricultural and tourist wealth that this part of the country is full of. In view of its importance for the national economy, it is a modern road that is expected to be born there in thirty-six (36) months.
