Mahamadou Bonkoungou, CEO of EBOMAF Group: A brilliant businessman in the heart
From the top of its 1.90 m, Mahamadou Bonkoungou prints giant steps on the Burkina Faso construction sector and part of West Africa. His experience and leadership in the business community betray his age. Indeed, he who carriedCompany Bonkoungou Mahamadou & Fils(EBOMAF) on the baptismal fonts, September 6, 1989, is waiting to blow its fifty (50) candles on May 23rd. In the course of his twenty-seven (27) years of effective presence in entrepreneurship, his successes over the years make him one of the most prominent economic operators in the country of the "Integrative Men" and his subregion.
When Mahamadou Bonkoungou obtained his B.A., D Series, in 1988, he was overwhelmed by a single obsession:"Do business instead of pursuing higher education. »This may be due to the fact that he was born, on 23 May 1966, in Dédougou, in a couple of traders whose prosperity is still remembered in this part of Burkina Faso. His father, Mamadou Bonkoungou, known as "Zind-naaba", marked the region of the Loop with his brilliant economic operator, while his mother, Salimata Ouedraogo, built a good reputation in income-generating activities. The family torch was rightly taken over by one of the sons from the age of twenty-three (23). After testing his abilities as a "money researcher" by renting video cassettes, selling appliances and spare parts, exporting gold, young Mahamadou created EBOMAF on 6 September 1989 at the Tribunal de Grande Instance in his home town.
With the fierce commitment to be"the craftsman of his own destiny",He endorsed the wisdom of the Chinese philosopher and founder of Taoism, Lao-Tseu:"Choose kindness to others. Choose in word, truth. Choose in politics, good order. Choose in business, efficiency. Chosen to act, opportunity. Do not compete and you will be blameless."Its formal and legal entry in the cases concerns Public Works and Real Estate. The young entrepreneur is quick to record convincing results in his contracts for the routine maintenance of roads and the construction of basic social services (schools, high schools & colleges, health centres, etc.). As an individual company, EBOMAF successively took the legal forms of Société à responsabilité limitée (SARL) in 1996 and then of Société anonyme (SA) with the capital of 300 million CFA francs in 2006, whose only shareholders were its Founder and his children. With perseverance and an unrivalled flair, he quickly managed to raise his business in the "Court of Greats" by relying on competent staff and encircling impressive material and technical means. The running of his company also embraces efficient management rules and an innovative management system.
The head of modernity, the spirit of globalization
In the 2000s, EBOMAF signed its name indelibly in the National Civil Engineering with the award of important contracts to carry out major works in the capital and in the national territory: street asphalting, ZACA project development, construction of the Koudougou-Dédougou road, etc. Known for his recklessness and his love for the work well done, his Founder built a reputation by showing unexpected know-how. Beyond a revelation, it is a consecration for the economic operator and his business. The expertise developed in the conduct of construction works convinces its compatriots and even seduces foreign governments. Man of vision, Mamadou Bonkoungou puts himself in the mould of globalization with the conviction that"Cases no longer have borders".From 2010, he set out to conquer Togo where President Faure Gnassingbé has engaged in extensive infrastructure projects to rehabilitate his country's road network.
The coup d'établissement proved to be a coup de maître for the Burkinabè entrepreneur. A man of speech who has always distinguished himself for the respect of his commitments and loyalty in his relations, CEO starts to work and gains the confidence of the Togolese authorities. This is the beginning of a saga that savourily maintains until today the process of internationalisation of EBOMAF which is beginning to acquire real fame in West Africa. Benin, in 2012, Guinea-Conakry, in 2014, Ivory Coast in 2015, Mahamadou Bonkoungou is gradually positioning himself as a new West African magnate of the BTP. EBOMAF's subsidiaries in the five countries where it is present are currently carrying out some 50 major road projects, employing more than five thousand (5,000) people on the various construction sites and making several hundred billion turnovers. The quality of the achievements makes us admire and improve the road network of the countries concerned. EBOMAF and Mahamadou Bonkoungou are thus marked by the place and role of key development partners of several governments. The modest society, founded on 6 September 1989 in Dédougou, has turned into a realRoad industrywhich ensures development paths, fights poverty and maintains afro-optimism."The best promotion and open competitiveness of a company is hidden in the quality of its activitiesHe insists.
EBOMAF has become a crossroads of skills where African, European, Asian and American technicians and engineers are co-located to perform any civil engineering task. Their work is supported by a unique logistics in the subregion: abundant and state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. Laurels come unanimously, at the national and international levels, to distinguish one of the most successful and competitive companies in West Africa. Mahamadou Bonkoungou's leading economic and financial personality is regularly recognized across the globe. The Burkina Faso authorities in 2015 were ranked as"Commander of the National Order".EBOMAF's expertise is also rewarded during the same year by a double Palme d'or from the most dynamic company of the BTP sector in Burkina Faso and in the UEMOA area in the top 100 ranking of the firm ECOFINANCE and the AZ review.
A deep attachment to the values of humanism
The wealth creation stature of the economic operator is now undeniable. Mahamadou Bonkoungou humbly apprehenses the crowns with him braided as an invitation to constantly maintain the course of success and to carry always high the Burkinabè torch. Child‘Zind-Naba'continuously deploys its leadership and management strength on its business. In addition to consolidating its market share and conquering other horizons, the growth and expansion of civil engineering activities are surrounded by a desire to open up to other sectors. EBOMAF is today a major eponymous economic and financial group active in construction, general trade, real estate, hotels, transport (business aviation), insurance and industry in Africa and Europe. Its President and Chief Executive Officer is now creating the image of a new race of African entrepreneurs whose self-made man and success story could inspire African youth.
Married and father of a dozen children, who went to good education and good school, Mamadou Bonkoungou is equidistant between his family roots oriented towards solidarity and even generosity and the culture of excellence guiding his entrepreneurial ambitions. Almost everyone seems to know EBOMAF without being able to identify his Founder, whose legendary humility denies an overflowing dynamism and efficiency. While he is currently in the spotlight in his country and in the subregion, it is for his boundless humanism. It is in the measure that the CEO assumes his Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Beyond its traditional sense of sharing sometimes bordering on "'His charitable work as well as his sponsorship and sponsorship actions concern several fields (Health, Education, Sport, Music, Culture, ...) and test various localities in countries where his company has a presence. Beyond his Faso and its inhabitants, with whom the leader of the BTP shares, without distinction of any kind, the benefits of his affairs, his home town, Dédougou, stands as the barometer of his participation in the social and economic progress of his compatriots.
