EBOMAF-BF: Started for Ouagadougou bypass work

The President of Faso, Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, proceeded on Tuesday, 30 October 2018 in Gampèla in the rural commune of Saaba, with his counterpart in Liberia, to launch the construction and bitumening of the bypass highway of the city of Ouagadougou. With a length of 125 Km, this ambitious work will be built according to a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for funding of CFAF 181 billion.

The process of bypassing the city of Ouagadougou North and South is in progress. Construction and bitumening of the related motorway will start shortly. Work will cost over CFAF 181 billion. They are being undertaken as part of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). Scheduled to last 36 months, they were launched on Tuesday 30 October 2018 in Gampèla by the President of Faso, Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, along with Liberian President George Weah.

According to the Minister of Infrastructure, Eric Bougouma, the motorway is a succession of circular routes designed to secure the users and residents of the city of Ouagadougou. It extends over a 125-kilometre linear route across three regions of our country: Central, Central-South, Central Plateau. "The bypass also includes nine municipalities, including Pabré, Komsilga, Koubri, Saaba, Saponé and the districts Nos. 4 and 8 of Ouagadougou. The intersections of this new boulevard and the national roads will be arranged as a circular plan. », he added.
