EBOMAF-GABON: The power plant that moves the Ntoum-Cocobeach road project forward

On the Ntoum-Cocobeach road site, which is about 83 kilometres long, the roadway progress is based on a well-organized industrial chain. At the life base of the EBOMAF-GABON SA PK10, the coating plant is one of the essential links.

The plant has a theoretical capacity of 230 tonnes per hour, with operational production of up to 150 tonnes per hour. It can thus produce up to 2,800 tons of coated per day, i.e. nearly 80 rotations of dumpsters, to supply the various work fronts regularly.

Manufacturing begins with the precise determination of aggregates, including crushed sand 0/6, gravel 6/10 and gravel 10/20. These materials are dried and heated in a rotary drum at a temperature that may be close to 160 °C before the bitumen is incorporated, which is previously heated. The mixture is then homogenized and stored in tanks with a total capacity of 60 tonnes, before being transported to the implementation areas.

At each stage, quality is closely monitored. Granulometry, component determination, homogeneity and temperature of the coated material are checked prior to delivery. At the site, the teams shall in particular monitor the conditions of implementation and the thickness of the applied layer.

This organization ensures continuity between production, transport and coating. Each dumpster leaving the PK10 contributes directly to the realization of new metres of carriageway.

Beyond its industrial function, the coating plant is therefore a strategic tool for EBOMAF-GABON SA. It secures the supply of construction sites, supports the pace of work and contributes to the construction of the Ntoum-Cocobeach road, an infrastructure designed to strengthen mobility and exchanges in Gabon.
