Fight against Ebola in Burkina Faso: EBOMAF Group provides CFAF 15 million in aid to CHU-Yalgado Ouédraogo de Ouagadougou

IIIIIIVAs a citizen company fully assuming its social responsibility, EBOMAS promptly joined the Burkina Faso government's initiatives to combat the Ebola pandemic. On Thursday, 2 October 2014, it provided assistance of CFAF 15 million to the University Hospital Centre Yalgado Ouedraogo (CHU-YO) for the construction of a building to isolate suspected cases of the disease.

"Prevention is better than cure!"This is the meaning given by the Deputy Director General (DGA) of the EBOMAF Group, Alizèta Kambou/Bonkoungou, to support the largest health facility in Burkina Faso in the national fight against Ebola. It is an impetus of solidarity in promoting the well-being of people through participation in efforts to counter a scourge that continues to threaten the West African sub-region."Thank God, our country is not affected by Ebola virus fever. However, in view of the call for solidarity launched by the authorities of our country against the Ebola virus, the EBOMAF Group, which works on major roadworks in one of the countries most affected by this epidemic, Guinea, cannot be left behind."has she indicated.

VIIThe financial contribution of CFAF 15 million is intended to provide the National Reference Hospital, Yalgado Ouedraogo University Hospital (CHU-YO) in Ouagadougou, with a facility for the isolation of suspected cases and awaiting verification and confirmation or not.

The erection of such an infrastructure has proved necessary after a suspicious case has created a general panic among patients and health care workers, suggesting serious concerns in the care system."We hope that this modest achievement will help to strengthen the protection of staff, parents of suspicious cases, short of the entire hospital community and its users, from the entire population of Burkina Faso. Together, let us stop the Ebola virus in our country by solidarity»requested Alizèta Kambou/Bonkoungou, DGA of the EBOMAF Group. This support of Mahamadou Bonkoungou's society for efforts to prevent the disease is welcomed by the first CHU-YO official, Bibia Robert Sangaré and his main collaborators as a patriotic act."This is an achievement that goes in the direction of responsibility and caution, which we must have towards the health care staff and to the users of our institution"said the Director General of the Centre.

According to the Head of the Infectious Diseases Department, Dr. Rigobert Thiombiano, the design of the internment framework takes into account the parameters and contingencies that combine the dual concern for the protection of patients, health care personnel and the conditions for better follow-up of suspect cases. Built according to a plan developed in conjunction with the infectious diseases department and some members of the internal Ebola virus disease management committee, the building that will be built with the financial support of the EBOMAF Group consists of two (2) rooms, a de-clothing room, two toilets. It will be fully equipped to meet the requirements of care for possible suspicious cases. This isolation building will be erected, in a short time, on a space next to the pneumonology service.
