EBOMAF-BF: Southern bypass takes a good look
From Gampéla, on the RN4, the works of the North-South bypass of the city of Ouagadougou are divided into two construction sites: North bypass on one side and South bypass on the other side. The South bypass covers a distance of fifty-nine (59) kilometres.
It covers work from Gamplela (RN04) to Yimdi (RN01) via Koubri (RN05) and the Léo Road (RN06). The activities on the South bypass currently concern earthworks and works of art. They are estimated at more than one (1) million cubic metres in terms of earthmoving and ninety (90) works of art.

For the time being, work is being carried out between Gamplela (RN04) and Koubri (RN05) for a length of twenty-eight (28) kilometres. They are already effective over twenty-three (23) kilometres concerning earthworks and works of art. Activities are normally carried out. Almost four hundred (400) workers are working on this part of the work. The boulevard under construction is just outside Koubri. The remaining part to reach the city is not yet started simply because the occupants are not yet compensated for being disbanded.

Of the twenty-three (23) kilometres of earthworks already completed, the foundation has already reached ten (10) kilometres. The impregnation will soon begin. This will lead to the beginning of the application of black, i.e. the bitumen, namely the serious bitumen (GB) and the bitumen concrete (BB) in a few days. There are thirty-six (36) works of art between Gamplela and Koubri.
Apart from two (2) major works to be completed soon, everything else has been completed to date. The urban part of the Southern Contouring covers 2.8 km. The platform is already there. The cannages are erected. Workers are working on setting up the masonry drills.

Some 30 d have been used to provide earthworks aggregates. In some places it is the implementation of the platform that continues with the embankment and application of the required levels. At other places, raise or are being completed works of art with sometimes templates of 3x4m on a height of 4m.
A concrete pump with a capacity of 100 m3/h is located close to the finished art works. Here, the topography department deals with the adjustment of the layout and the elevations. There, the laboratory service ensures grain by sampling to ensure density.
