Launch of the Yombi-Mandji-Omboué road bitumen works

Gabon has taken a new step towards upgrading its infrastructure. The Vice-President of the Government, Alexandre Barro Chambrier, officially launched, on Thursday, 11 September 2025, the construction of the Yombi-Mandji-Omboué road, two hundred and forty-four kilometres long (244).

The ceremony, marked by the presence of high authorities, including the President of the National Assembly, Jean-François Ndongou, and the Governor of the Ngounié, symbolized the determination of the President of the Republic, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma, to permanently de-enclave the Ogooué-Maritime and to strengthen the interconnection with the Ngounié. This project is not an isolated act. It illustrates the vitality of a long-term national policy and finds, in partnership with the EBOMAF Group, a lever to achieve the country's ambitions.

In a unanimous spirit, local and national actors welcomed this initiative, incarnation of the presidential vision of ambitious infrastructure modernisation. Under a heavy skies of hope, the Minister of Public Works and Construction, Edgard Moukombi, recalled that this structuring project carries the firm commitment of the Head of State to modernising the Gabonese road network by building on an African leader in major works: EBOMAF, whose expertise and reputation are unanimously recognized.

The construction site of the Yombi-Mandji-Omboué road, which is planned for forty-eight (48) months, exceeds the simple technical construction of a road to be bitumen. It is a large-scale project that will have a lasting impact on the daily lives of people, opening long-landed areas, making travel more fluid and safer, and stimulating a local economy so far hampered by the absence of modern roads.

This is still a major project aimed at opening up isolated localities, improving traffic and road safety, stimulating local trade through improved accessibility and fluidizing economic exchanges. The expected benefits of this achievement are considerable.

Behind these perspectives is the solidity of an alliance: the Gabonese State, which fully finances the works, and EBOMAF, the contractor chosen for its recognized expertise and proven expertise in the design and construction of modern roads in several countries. Together, they give shape to a vision: that of a Gabonese road network, which drives development, unity and opening.

The excellence of this partnership is measured by the extent of the means deployed to meet this challenge. About one thousand eight hundred (1,800) professionals specializing in road works and six hundred (600) vehicles will be mobilized to succeed this presidential ambition. It is also reflected in the renewed confidence of the Gabonese State in EBOMAF, already present on other major construction sites such as the Ntoum-Cocobeach axis or the Lebamba-Mbigou-Molo section up to the Congolese border. On these sites.

EBOMAF has demonstrated that it is more than a performer: it is a strategic partner, a builder of trust, an ally in the transformation of territories. "Where EBOMAF passes, a modern road takes place," a field engineer proudly says, summarizing the reliability of a company that makes professionalism its signature.

The Yombi-Mandji-Omboué project thus becomes a strong symbol. It reflects a strong political will and a courageous financial commitment. This is an example of fruitful cooperation between the Gabonese State and EBOMAF. In Yombi, Mandji, Omboué and beyond, people see not only bulldozers and bitumen; They already perceive the materialization of an alliance that works for their future. This partnership, based on trust and excellence, offers Gabon the roads of its ambitions and the people the hope of a better daily life.
