EBOMAF-GABON : The Ntoum-Cocobeach yard under good auspices

The work of the Ntoum-Cocobeach section received, on Friday 14 February 2025, a surprise visit by the President of the Gabonese Republic, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. At the head of an important high-level delegation, he reviewed the implementation of this ambitious road project, which is part of a full-scale de-enclavement of the national territory.

On a linear length of eighty-three (83) kilometres, the Ntoum-Cocobeach road, long in oblivion, sounds like the spring of the development of road infrastructure in Gabon savourily maintained by the President of the Republic, Head of State and President of Transition, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. Under its leadership, the country is well equipped to modernise the ground communication axes. Thanks to a public-private partnership (PPP) between the Gabonese State and the EBOMAF Group, the development and construction of the Ntoum-Cocobeach section is now a reality. In a short time, this road gradually turns into a modern road to international standards with all the amenities in terms of traffic comfort and road safety.

In addition to the satisfaction of the first Gabonese in view of the salutary metamorphosis of the work, the joy is read on the face of his compatriots. They expressed their enthusiasm by welcoming the Head of State throughout the project to a popular joy. According to a seven-year-old, there are real reasons to rejoice at the actual start and the considerable progress of the work, especially since its impracticability, once due to its defective state, has caused a great deal of harm to the population, including regular accidents. A situation that sometimes prevented relatives from visiting their home communities. immense joy" We can only say thank you to President Oligui, we have seen some of the worst accidents in this direction.

Accompanied by several members of the government, the opportunity was offered to the Head of State to comb the execution of the project on all its aspects in the company of the President and Chief Executive Officer of the EBOMAF Group, Mahamadou Bonkoungou. Ntoum-Cocobeach occupies a strategic place in the momentum of the disengagement undertaken by General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. From PK 00 to Ntoum roundabout to Cocobeach, the Head of State and his high-level delegation were able to see significant progress made by EBOMAF in the development and construction of this road. The great expertise in the BTP, the human and material performance are combined for the widening of the lateritic sand track to form the platform which currently has about 80% realization rate. The Head of State did not fail to welcome the quality work done by the successful contractor. He assured the people of the opportunities that this path, once completed, is called upon to offer them.

Indeed, the Ntoum-Cocobeach project is part of an ambitious initiative to modernise Gabonese road infrastructure. It provides for the erection of two toll stations and a tow bridge.

Launched on October 16, 2024, this large work consists of eleven (11) bridges of various dimensions and one hundred and thirty-five (135) dalots. In the countryside as in agglomerations, the pavement ranges from ten (10) to thirteen (13) metres wide with an improved foundation base layer of 25 cm of untreated granite (GNT), 12 cm of thickness of serious bitumen (GB) and 6 cm of winding layer commonly known as tar concrete (BB).
