EBOMAF-GABON: The bypass works of the Grand Libreville and Ntoum-Cocobeach launched under a new era for road infrastructure
The construction sector in Gabon has seen a big jump on Wednesday 16 October 2024 through the launch of two large-scale road projects. Executed by EBOMAF, the bypass yards of the Grand Libreville and the Ntoum-Cocobeach road mark a new era in the development of road infrastructure in this central African country.

The launch ceremony, chaired by Minister of Public Works Flavien Nziengui Nzoundou, took place in two phases. Ntoum-Cocobeach in Andem and Grand Libreville bypass at Plaine Ayeme. These two stages mobilized local authorities including the governor of the province of Estuary and the prefect of the Komo-Mondah department.

The two road projects constitute one of the main axes of the policy driven by the President of the Transition, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, in the context of the national settlement and the modernisation of the road network throughout the territory. the Gabonese state has relied on an African leader in major public works, namely EBOMAF, to achieve its objective. The Minister of Public Works, Flavien Nziengui Nzoundoua, stressed that the implementation of these projects will contribute to the acceleration of road development in Gabon.

He stressed that the new axes concerned should be brought to international standards. He did not fail to acknowledge the dynamism of EBOMAF, which already shows its expertise in the execution of the works. "The choice of this company to intervene in the public works sector in Gabon is due to its expertise and professionalism recognized throughout West Africa. She is used to carrying out major road projects. EBOMAF is a safe company. The last visit we made to its construction sites remains convincing, said Minister Flavian Nziengui Nzoundou. The bypass of the Grand Libreville for a state-of-the-art 2x3 track section to connect the capital to the future international airport. As for the Ntoum-Cocobeach road, it is the promise of a road with all the amenities that is about to be realized forty years later.

Reconfirmed by this confidence at the highest summit of the Gabonese State, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the EBOMAF Group, Mahamadou Bonkoungou, reassures him of his determination to offer Gabon modern road infrastructure of high quality. The two projects, which have just been launched, will be carried out through full pre-financing of the company. While thanking the President of the transition, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, he made a strong appeal to African and international companies to join and support development projects on the continent. "Despite the complexity of the work with regard to the density of the forest and the presence of large hills on the right-of-way, we have already gained in part the challenge of the actual route through the deployment of impressive human and material resources on site," said Mahamadou Bonkoungou, CEO of the EBOMAF Group.
