EBOMAF-TOGO: Pierre Adjeklo, Director of Works on Borgou-Mandouri: "Our project is progressing well"

The Borgou-Mandouri yard, which is part of the Dapaong-Mandouri road project, is now in full swing. Under the direction of Pierre Adjeklo, more than two hundred (200) people are working to develop and build the thirty-eight (38) kilometres. Planning and timing are respected.

How is the Borgou-Mandouri road project, which forms Lot 2 of the Dapaong-Mandouri axis?

The aim here is to build a modern road on a thirty-eight (38) kilometre stretch between Borgou and Mandouri on the Benin border. The project involves preparatory works, earthworks, pavements, signs, related activities. The preparatory works consist of the construction of the site. Earthworks are the embankments for the platform, the foundation layer, the base layer. The roadways cover bituminous concrete (BB). In terms of construction, forty-eight (48) dalots and a bridge of sixteen (16) metres are planned on the section. Related activities include drilling, water retention and toll stations.

Today (1andJuly 2014), what is the physiognomy of the site?

The development and construction of the Borgou-Mandouri section is progressing considerably according to the specifications. Its evolution responds to the schedule and timing agreed by the different parties. The embankment, clearing and stripping reached PK 30 (NDLR: 1andJuly 2014. As far as foundation work is concerned, we had currently exceeded KP 13. The first layer of embankment reached beyond the KP 28. To date, more than twenty-one (21) Dalots are ready out of the forty-eight (48) planned.

Do you encounter any particular difficulties in carrying out the work on this site?

ITW DT IITW DT IIIMost concerns are resolved as work expands. The adjustments found at the base-life level are part of this desire to adapt the various means, whether human, material, technical or financial, with the evolution of the construction site. Difficulties are smoothed over time. Adequate and timely responses are provided whenever they occur.
