EBOMAF-BURKINA FASO: Ten million CFA francs to the wounded from the popular insurgency of Yalgado-Ouedraogo and Blaise-Compaoré hospitals
They were respectively given six (6) million CFA francs and four (4) million CFA francs, for a total of ten (10) million CFA francs. “This is a painful time for every Burkinabè. However, nothing is more precious than a life. Beyond this modest contribution to help care for the victims of the popular uprising, we wish to express our compassion to the families who have lost loved ones. We offer our sincere condolences to the deceased and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. May God Almighty bless our beloved country, Burkina Faso, and bring peace to our hearts,” explained El Hadj Ousséni Tapsoba, representing the CEO of EBOMAF.
The heads of the recipient institutions welcomed this generosity as a great relief. Although each has its own social services and emergency care system, Alexandre Sanfo of HNBC and Bibia Robert Sangaré of CHU-YO acknowledged that this support is a true godsend. "This aid will allow for the continuity of care," stated the Director General of HNBC. As of November 6th, due to the popular uprising, HNBC had received twenty-five (25) injured people, including two (2) deaths, and CHU-YO had received one hundred and eighty-nine (189) injured people, including eight (8) deaths.
Most of them suffered from burns and gunshot wounds. Some were released after receiving treatment; others are still hospitalized or continue to receive outpatient care. "Today, this is yet another form of assistance. It demonstrates the generosity and compassion of the donor organization, which has itself been affected by acts of looting and destruction." Despite all these hardships, EBOMAF expresses its generosity towards the victims. "This aid will significantly improve the care provided to patients on October 30th and 31st," explained the Director General of the CHU-YO.
