Visit of the ZACA project by the Prime Minister: Good level of progress of workThe Prime Minister, Tertius Zongo, visited the ZACA project site on 28 December 2007. The visit enabled the Head of Government to take stock of the progress of the work. According to Mahamadou Bonkoungou, head of the company responsible for the work, EBOMAS, the level of progress is satisfactory.
Prime Minister Tertius Zongo visited the ZACA project website on the morning of Friday, 28 December 2007. The purpose of this visit was to see the progress of the work and to absorb the difficulties encountered in carrying out this ambitious project. According to Tertius Zongo, the government is very interested in the ZACA project; Also, through this visit, the Head of Government intended to remind the actors on the ground of the interest of the project, both for the government and for those who have made reservations of places and are waiting. But the Prime Minister would also like to reassure them that "in the near future they will be on the job and they must start preparing their portfolio for construction".
Compared to the progress of the current phase of work on earth-moving, road and canine roads, Mahamadou Bonkoungou, head of EBOMAF, responsible for implementation, said that the current rate of execution of the work was 60%. He also reassured that his company would even finish the work before the deadlines. At the start of the work, the company had deplored some difficulties due to the facilities of the other concessionaires. Today, she welcomes the understanding shown by some of them; except that there are still posts of the ONATEL that hang on the site, according to the contractor.
As the Head of Government pointed out, such an important project cannot be carried out without some inconvenience. Moreover, according to Simon Compaoré, Mayor of Ouagadougou, who took part in the visit before its closure, the site had become a real den for thieves who, each time, were victims; This is why the mayor welcomed the initiative of the Ministry of Habitat to close the site. However, taking advantage of the Prime Minister's presence, the mayor expressed concerns about the safety of the people still living on the site. In addition, Tertius Zongo instructed Habitat Minister Vincent Dabilougou to bring all stakeholders together for a consultation, with a view to finding the necessary measure to prevent possible accidents.
