Construction of the national road 24: The oil carpet runs between Dapaong-Borgou
Work is proceeding well on the Dapaong-Borgou axis, the first lot of the development and construction of the national road 24. They already benefit from an overall promotion rate of 40%. A motivated team is on foot to cover 45 kilometres of the concrete section (BB).
Soon a double road completely paved in the city of Dapaong will establish the junction with the twenty-five (25) kilometers already ready in the first phase of construction of national road 24 in Togo i.e. Dapaong-Borgou-Ponio. To date, more than half of the 45-kilometre stretch has already been blackened. Delayed due to the clearance of the right-of-way, the application of bituminous concrete (BB) to KP 00 of the project is now effective.
From the branch line with the Lomé road to a distance of about two kilometers, the finishers cut down a considerable amount of work under the direction of Sébastien Spelkens, head of the BB on the Dapaong-Borgou axis. The method used at this stage in the city is the semi-storey structure to allow for traffic continuity. Six cents (600) metres are covered each day.
This stop to catch up with the double track of Dapaong takes place at the same time as the construction site knows a swing down the whole section. The earthworks are just a few blocks from the final point of the project. The preparation of the various layers of the pavement follows the impregnation. The bitumen part is at the entrance to Naki East. From Pana base, the construction site is stormed by machines, dumpsters and a good hundred workers.
On 2 November, work at the Dapaong-Borgou yard recorded an overall rate of 40% progress. They are currently concerned with earthmoving, finishing of art works, preparation of foundation layers, laying of cement floor and application of bituminous concrete.
Under the leadership of Malick Adohi Ouro, almost all the works of art (bridges, dalots, ducks) are almost finished. Here, it is the carpet of a bridge that is placed. There, it is the beams of another that is laid.
There's no respite. The process is well initiated for the different activities sequence one another. The site visit that the CEO of EBOMAF, Mahamadou Bonkoungou, carried out on Saturday, November 3, allowed to review the various tasks and galvanize the troops.
This momentum and general mobilisation are all the more necessary as the second batch of RN 24, Borgou-Mandouri is already open.
