The speed and quality observed in the development and construction of this 19.5 km section leaves no one indifferent.
The implementation of Lot II of the Bodjecali-Madecali-IIloua border Nigeria works records the satisfaction of the Beninese state. This project was the subject of a high-level inspection by the Ministers of Public Works, Economy and Finance and the Director General of Customs. This field visit reviewed the entire process of implementing this road project.. "At this stage of work, we come to urge the company to become more ardent because this project is an important source for the Beninese economy. The frequent visits to the site are designed to encourage and alleviate difficulties in a concerted manner", explained the Minister of Economy and Finance.
Indeed, the modernization of the Bodjecali-Frontier Nigeria axis represents a socio-economic challenge for the far north of Benin. This route is seen as a great tool of integration in that it will increase exchanges between the countries of Thomas Boni Yayi and Goodluck Jonathan.
A month after the first visit, the envoys of the Beninese government noted the rather dramatic progress that the successful contractor made in the works. The preparation of the platform has already reached 11 km of 19.5. The base layer is entirely designed over three (3) km. Twenty (20) of the 42 are so far built.
This prowess recorded after only two (2) months of work was unanimously welcomed. According to the Engineer-Conducer of the works Chitou Charif, new strategies are currently being implemented to increase results within a month. They aim, among other things, to defy the rainy season to continue the work."Usually, precipitation is very high between August and September. To do this, we decided to step up work towards the end of the project. This very sandy area is practically located in a bottom. It is imperative to concentrate our efforts at the moment not to waste time and money because of the floods. So it was necessary to finish the important layers the platform, the base layer and above all the sanitation there.", indicates the engineer-conductor of the works. He did not fail to point out that Lot II of the Bodjecali-Madecali-IIloua border Nigeria works is one of the smallest projects that EBOMAF is responsible for and that there is no reason why it cannot be carried out on time.
The human and material resources deployed in this project are impressive. The CEO announced the establishment of a new 300T/h coated power plant and new crushers. These installations, which will initially be used only for the 19.5 km project, will lay the structure of EBOMAF in Benin. The difficulties associated with the scarcity of a skilled local labour force, the inaccessibility of silitous sand quarries and the laterity of land and community problems have been brought to the attention of the members of the government and their aftermath. They promised to promote a participatory approach so that appropriate solutions could be found to enable the work to be carried out diligently. The balance must be struck between maintaining the main activity of the people who are agriculture and the continuity of the implementation of the project. This commitment of the Beninese Government to facilitate the implementation of the project is already reflected in the strengthening of safety throughout the section to be modernised.
