The Minister of Infrastructure at the NSR 14: The same good work
At each visit to the ambitious RN 14 (Koudougou-Dédougou) site, EBOMAF continues to reassure the government and its partners through the pace and quality of the work. Jean Bertin Ouédraogo, Minister of Infrastructure and De-enclavement, took part in the same fervour of the successful company to close this 130 km road project on time, costing CFAF 37,620 billion.
The Koudougou-Dédougou road has definitely and irreversibly taken the path of modernity. On a tour in the region of the Boucle du Mouhoun, on the 4th and 5th of May, the inspection of the Minister of Infrastructures and De-enclavement, Jean Bertin Ouedraogo around the road works under construction was held to mark the visit of the road project of the national road 14. At the head of a strong delegation, including the representatives of the donors, he reassured himself for the nth time of EBOMAF's respect for the timing and specifications in the conduct of the work. All civil engineering, hydraulics and social services activities planned for the development and bitumening of RN 14 are carried out on wheel caps.
There was unanimous satisfaction about the rapid progression of the bilayer (about half of the works), the effectiveness of the erection of the works of art and sanitation (more than 150 in total) and the significant advance of the other major works (terrace, loading). There is no doubt that the regions of the West Centre and the Mouhoun Loop are freed by the construction of a road to international standards. Sign of this reality since October 2011 where bitumen began spreading over the section, the shift of the technical base of the successful contractor from Dédougou to Cheriba to PK 50. The assault on Koudougou, the point of fall, is well launched. The major bridges of Tenado, Lanfiera and Mouhoun are completed. The culverts and the dalots are over. The journey upgrade is felt throughout the axis. Workers and machinery work hard to meet the challenge. EBOMAF recalled its troops and the construction site was in full swing."All steps shall be taken to ensure that nothing can stop the course set to comply strictly with the deadlines"states the Director of Works.
On the construction site, a real low-sleep swing takes over the entire section. Here, these are earthworks, brushing, stripping. There, teams are on the pavement with here layers of foundations in lateritic gravel. There are impregnation layers, surface coatings monolayer or bilayer. While other employees work on art and sanitation works. The bridge over the river Mouhoun (80 m long) fascinated the delegation led by the minister. A truly gigantic masterpiece, this art work waits only for connection to play its role of crossing. According to the head of the monitoring mission, Baoui Nama, this stage will only occur after very technical prerequisites.
EBOMAF has visibly deployed human and material forces on the site to carry out its mission properly. This demonstration of professionalism was unanimously recognized and praised by Minister Jean Bertin Ouédraogo and his successor. The result achieved in the implementation of the project is eloquent. Partial data force admiration: bitumen has already reached Cheriba at PK 50. The rest of the battle is not played for 80 km which record all the attentions that will soon lead to the laying of the bilayer."The work is proceeding satisfactorily at the NSR 14 site. There are real reasons for satisfaction",concludes the Minister of Infrastructure and Settlement.
This good assessment of the work was supported by the donors. Throughout the review, their representative was very impressed with the expertise shown by EBOMAF in carrying out the work."There has been a marked development since my last visit in mid-April. Things really moved on the construction site. The project is fully open and better implemented in terms of equipment and personnel. All of the works testify that the company took the construction site by arm. In my opinion, it has real means to quickly catch up with the slight delay observed by strengthening its organisation. The consulting engineer who is our eye on the field can help him to better manage his staff, equipment and time",According to Abdoulaye Coulibaly, representative of Islamic Development Bank, the main donor. Despite the absence of its CEO Mahamoudou Bonkoungou at this visit, EBOMAF has been able to give the authorities in charge of road infrastructure and their partners the guarantees of its efficiency in the conduct and success of the major works. The pace of the various achievements convinces us that the company is firmly committed to meeting the deadlines. It's all benef for the people of the Mouhoun Loop who dream of finally having a practical road.
