EBOMAF-BF: In 16 months, Ouagadougou's North-South bypass site has a 70% execution rate, compared to a consumption of 49%

Never before has a road project been so rapid in its implementation in Burkina Faso. The work of the North-South bypass of the city of Ouagadougou continues to forge admiration both by the means deployed and by the very significant advance recorded in just sixteen (16) months over a time limit of thirty-six (36) months off the rainy season: a rate of execution of 70% compared to a period consumed of 49%.

In keeping with its reputation for achieving quality infrastructure on time, EBOMAS is currently putting up double stops to win the bet for the implementation of the largest road project ever carried out in Burkina Faso: a section of 2x2 lanes on both sides of a central land-full of ten (10) meters over a length of one hundred and twenty-five (125) kilometers for a financing of one hundred and eighty-one (181) billion CFA francs.

The work of the North-South bypass of the city of Ouagadougou officially started on 1 January.and October 2019. Placed under the general coordination of Camille Combary, they are executed on two fronts including that of the North led by Martin Diabri and that of the South by Inousa Ouedraogo. A synergy of actions with a high level of work methodology and dynamic site planning has led to very good results.

At the southern bypass, this 40 Km of brushed and cleaned, 28 Km of finished form layer, 23 Km of serious bitumen (GB) realized, 17 Km of bitumen concrete (BB) realized. In this section too, the works are at a rate of 75%, or 61 works of the 80 in total.

As for the North bypass, 74% of the right-of-way is already cleaned, 52% for the embankments, 48% of the form layer made and 45% foundation layer made. The serious bitumen (GB) at the level of the North bypass is at a realization rate of 45% or about 16 km while the bituminous concrete (BB) is at 14% or 6.8 km. The work on this section is at a production rate of 58%, 47 out of 81.

Prior to the announcement of the winter period, the coordinators hope to complete virtually the loop with regard to the radius of the bypass. The total circumference of the bypass, including cleaning, is in sight. Every effort is made to remove all the water before the rains in order to continue earthworks in this crucial period, although this is not part of the contractual period.
