Renovation and construction of roads in Lomé: The works will be delivered in time

As part of the rehabilitation of the various roads and networks (VRD) of the Togolese capital, the hour is at the wave of reception of the works. Streets open one after another. But this start only concerns small projects. The whole city of Lomé has its eyes on EBOMAF, whose works focus on the great arteries that are pleasantly changing the face of the city. The formal announcement to deliver them on time reassures the Minister of Public Works and relieves the public.

The touch of the Burkinabe Group, EBOMAS, is remarkable in the vast programme of rehabilitation and construction of the various roads and networks (VRD) of the Togolese capital. In addition to the re-launching of the legendary Boulevard du 13-Janvier, other avenues of Lomé benefit from this very African expertise. It is an armada of state-of-the-art equipment that deals with giving the city of Faure Gnassingbé better conditions of urban traffic. And at every detour of the Togolese Minister of Public Works on the site, satisfaction is read on all faces. The testimony of the residents, users and staff involved in the follow-up to the work acknowledges the seriousness that the company is putting to meet this challenge of good road safety. "Any procurement is based on a delay in execution. As long as this time is not exhausted, there is no reason to worry. Taking this deadline into account, it is possible to reconcile the concern to ensure the quality of the work and to deliver it on time", says Jean-Louis Roche, Director of Works at EBOMAF. The visit of the Togolese Minister of Public Works is part of this routine to make sure that everything is carried out according to the specifications. The government's emissary does not hide its optimism every time it goes down the road.

At a time when small companies are closing their yards, the Loméans are only waiting for EBOMAF to reveal its know-how to everyone. The receptions followed, but the inhabitants of the capital knew how to distinguish between small works and large ones entrusted to leaders. "It would be a bad faith to bring EBOMAF's shot-down work closer to what others do as a job," points out a user of sections already opened by the Burkinaba giant. Without falling into any temptation to give explanations, the hovering of its machinery over the main arteries of the city continues to convince the national opinion that it is working with full control of the markets at its charge. Without being compared to others, EBOMAS prints its rhythm in serenity and imposes its reputation on the sons of the months.

"When we were told at first that this company came from Burkina Faso, I thought it was hard. It was the site visit by the CEO who convinced me. His behavior on the site, his humility towards the workers, his generosity towards the residents, the perfect symbiosis between Togolese and Burkinabé employees were amazed. Without Western companies, it is very rare to see an African company carry out such efficient work," says a riversider of Boulevard du 13-Janvier.

The Togolese authorities in general and those in charge of public works in particular measure on a daily basis this technical, human and financial asset which are guaranteed a substantial execution of any market in the BTP. References exist across the country and honour the government's choice to look to excellence to undertake its major work. "Our priesthood is never to fail in a contract. Our determination and commitment always combine in faith to succeed in honouring quality and timeliness. This vision has always been a source of confidence in our partners. And the work of Lomé cannot derogate from this rule of conduct," recalls EBOMAF Group CEO Mahamadou Bonkoungou.

Comparison is therefore not right. EBOMAF has inherited large pieces in the renovation and rehabilitation of the Lomé roads and it is unhealthy to simmer on the reception of its works all the more because even if they record very satisfactory rates, the delays are far from being exhausted. So, wait and see. Because starting a road in the middle of the city is very different from maintaining a rural track. The progress of EBOMAF projects in the arteries of Lomé encourages respect and admiration. Everything progresses with the obligation to keep intact the pipes and cables of water, telephone and electricity placed in the container. It is with maestria that the works are carried out and they will be received within the time limit. A kind of "EBOMAF-mania" has taken hold of the BTP companies in the country who like with fair play to take an example on the Burkinese giant. In its wake, many local enterprises have changed their way of life in the sector. They learned to compare what is comparable. Do not carry out great works that will but that can!
