EBOMAF-CI: Construction of the Korhogo terminal seduces Ivorian Minister of Transport
After his last visit to the Korhogo airport in September 2022, Ivorian Minister of Transport Amadou Koné visited the site on Wednesday 29 March 2023 in the capital of the Poro region. At the head of a strong delegation from his department, he reviewed all aspects of the work. This includes the main batch consisting of the terminal and the secondary spots consisting of the airstrip, the technical installations of "Instrument Landing System" (ILS/DME), the security fence, the car park and the airport road.

The emissary of the Ivorian government was given a guided visit led by the Secretary General of the EBOMAF Group, Adama Rouamba, the technical teams and the head of the monitoring mission, BNETD. At each stage of the project, the minister, Amadou Koné, was explained the conduct of the activities carried out and the remaining tasks.

The recorded performances are eloquent. The terminal is at an implementation rate of 80 % according to the project data sheet. The building took its full shape. The various offices and services are sized, electrical wiring is realized, the air conditioning ducts have been installed. Only some finishing and painting work remains.
The parking lot is already traced and has even received bituminous concrete. Police stations are almost complete.

The entire road route is ready in accordance with the plans adopted. The bitumen stage took over.
Following more than an hour's in camera with all stakeholders, the minister, Amadou Koné, expressed his satisfaction with the progress made since his last visit in 2022. He particularly welcomed the performance achieved, which is estimated at 66 per cent overall. "I am satisfied with the information I gave here during my first visit, particularly on the first two lots," he said.

The airstrip is most likely closed. According to the Ivorian Minister of Transport, discussions are under way with a view to its extension within the framework of CAN 2024. Currently 2,100 m long, it is envisaged to increase its range to accommodate large carriers such as the A320.

EBOMAF obtained that the runway was closed to traffic during the extension work. The company expected only such a decision from the authorities to launch this part of the work, the installations of which have already been built particularly at the Coated Power Plant. Minister Amadou Koné did not hide his optimism that the entire project would be completed before the CAN.
