Tandjouaré-Cinkanssé Building: Rehabilitation is more than 50% of the execution

Work to strengthen the platform on the Tandjouaré-Cinkanssé section is proceeding normally. The construction site is currently in full swing. Launched on 7 April 2013, the application of the serious bitumen has reached twenty-five (25) kilometres of the section. The various civil engineering activities follow at a more than satisfactory pace.

Gradually but surely, EBOMAF is facing the challenge of rehabilitating the most degraded part of Togo's national road 1 for about seventy (70) kilometres. The bet for strengthening the Tandjouare-Cinkansse axis is raised day by day. The serious bitumen has already covered more than twenty-five (25) kilometres thanks to the assistance of eleven (11) Spanish specialists. The earthmoving is almost complete and the work is evolving beyond expectations. The obstacle to the Timbou bridge has just been lifted to avoid deviations during the rains.

The life base eloquently illustrates the swing down on the Cinkanssé-Tandjouaré construction site. Concrete and coated power plants as well as the granite quarry frequently receive the back and forth of some 30 dumpsters who shuttle between the road infrastructure under construction and the supply sites. Benefitting from an impressive state-of-the-art equipment park and trained personnel in major works, earthworks, cement flooring, impregnation, and contouring of sanitation works are carried out with training. No respite until the final kilometric point (PK).

The amendments are carried out simultaneously with the tasks of the original contract. As part of the additional work, the reconstruction of the Cinkansse bridge and the reduction of the ramp at PK 00 are at an advanced stage.

Thanks to this well-maintained improvement on the site, the rehabilitation of the Cinkanssé-Tandjouaré axis recorded an overall rate of execution of more than 50% as of 18 May 2013. This is a remarkable step forward as the rest of the work runs for twenty-four (24) months: eight (8) for the initial market and sixteen (16) for the amendments. It is a great pleasure to have EBOMAF sign an infrastructure worthy of its reputation on the Togolese corridor.
