EBOMAF-CI: Ferké-Kong begins its bitumen phase
The construction of the Ferkessédougou-Nassian-Kong road is making significant progress. Following the completion of the Korhogo-Karakoro-Airport section, the second phase of the project in Côte d'Ivoire is now fully focused on its efficient and effective implementation.
The development and paving project for the Ferkessédougou-Nassian-Kong section has entered its final phase. The asphalt paving has begun, and this crucial stage is being approached with great enthusiasm. Supported by the Spanish team from Tecno Firmes, specializing in asphalt laying, the EBOMAF-CI workers are giving their all to ensure the success of this initial phase of this complex civil engineering undertaking.

Little by little, the 121 km of the project are being paved over. After the various layers of different soils are laid, the road surface must be covered with 10 cm of untreated gravel (GNT) and 5 cm of bituminous concrete (BB). As of March 12, 2017, the road modernization process had already seen 10.2 km of GNT and 6.7 km of BB laid. This impressive achievement in managing the project demonstrates CEO Mahamadou Bonkoungou's commitment to fulfilling his promises by adhering to the established timeline and schedule.

Upstream, a monumental effort has been undertaken with considerable human, material, and technical resources deployed at both ends of the project: Ferkessédougou and Kong. A carefully implemented methodology has enabled the completion of 63 km of excavation (excavated material placed in stockpiles), 58 km of roadbed, and 15 km of lateritic gravel foundations.

Regarding sanitation infrastructure, 2,842.23 linear meters of drainage channels have already been completed, along with 31 fully finished culverts and 6 currently nearing completion. As for the three engineering structures, all related plans have been approved, allowing their construction to begin. The piles for the 20-meter structure have already been driven into the ground.
