Tandjouaré-Cinkansé Building: The road is a big step away

Tandjouaré-Cinkansé Building: The road is a big step away

The rehabilitation of the Tandjouaré-Cinkansé section continues under good auspices. The sixty-five kilometres are covered serenely with a first ten centimeters of bitumen. EBOMAF is really at work. All human, material, and technical means are set in motion. The month of November saw a revival of activity with the acceleration of the work of fixing the serious bitumen.

This is the second phase of the application of the serious bitumen (GB) on the Tandjouaré-Cinkansé site. The first, which extended from April to June, reached twenty-three (23) kilometres. The application of this first layer of bitumen with a thickness of ten (10) centimetres is taken from the section.

Every day represents a challenge to be won on this track whose traffic intensity does not weaken. Two finishers placed in parallel ensure this work is both delicate and demanding."This project is an integration issue for Togo and the countries of the hinterland. It is a work of vital importance. Its good implementation is at the heart of the CEO of EBOMAF who does not hesitate to look for material capabilities and human skills where they are in the world »says Samba Mody Nsdiaye, EBOMAF Director of Works in Dapaong.

This ambition, expressed at the highest level, is felt in the execution of the work. Tanks carrying bitumen from Lomé have increased.

The number of dumpsters has been increased. Both careers are not out of place. The enrobed power plant has resumed service. It runs at full speed. The back and forth are endless. The Spanish team'Tecno firms'specialized in bitumen work has been put back to work with all the human, material and technical attention that surrounded their previous mission. It was even strengthened: twelve (12) people instead of eleven (11) for the first stay. After taking advantage of the cessation of the bitumen activities due to the rainy season for a trip to Spain, Philippe Arbones and his comrades have been back for a week.

They have taken over on board finishers and compactors."We are in the same good working conditions to carry out our mission: state-of-the-art equipment, dynamic support staff and reassuring work methodology",assures Philippe Arbones, head of the Spanish delegation.

The GB will be connected here the city of Cinkansé, where a real low jerk is currently felt.

Each day of activity sees the discharge of two thousand (2,000) tons of serious bitumen (GB) that is a daily application over about one kilometre. As of November 2, four (4) new kilometres were won, bringing the portion already covered from Cinkansé to 25 kilometres. A well-conceived working methodology allows continuity of traffic and construction of the work. This main task of the project is carried out in conjunction with the construction of the works of art and the preparation of the various layers. The earthmoving has already reached the final point of the project.

The Timbou bridge is almost completed and the Cinkansé bridge has a 40% rate of progress. These advances bode well for a timely closure of the first phase of rehabilitation of the Togolese corridor.
