Construction of Togo National Road 24: The course is set on Mandouri via Borgou
Under Faure Gnassingbé, the Togolese state has embarked on an extensive process of upgrading its road network. The Government places particular emphasis on national roads such as the 24th road linking Dapaong and Mandouri to the Benin border. With EBOMAF, the work of two lots is in full swing. As usual, the West African BTP leader attacked this new front with all his capabilities.
This is the start for the development and the rolling of the road Dapaong-Naki East-Ogarou-Borgou-Nianli-Mandouri with a distance of ninety-seven (97) kilometres. The EBOMAF Group's equipment has already taken a stand to start the construction The assault is indeed launched towards the Beninese border. These works consist of two (2) lots for a cumulative period of twenty-eight (28) months. Financing is provided by the West African Development Bank (WADB) and the Togolese State. The first lot covers the Dapaong-Naki East-Ogarou-Borgou section with a length of forty-nine (49) kilometres for sixteen (16) months of execution under the control of the DECO IC/CAEM group of offices. The second one is interested in the Borgou-Nianli-Mandouri axis of a 48-kilometre line for twelve (12) months of work, the quality watch being entrusted to AGIM/BFC.
The current top start is the first tranche. Both the first lot and the second lot, the projects concern the development and bitumening of the allocated portions, the construction of hydraulic, drainage and sewerage works (drums and pipes), the construction of eleven works of art (bridges), the construction of a toll station, the carrying out of the related works (drums, market sheds, water hold). Common sections are planned in agglomerations and in the countryside, as well as eleven works of art (11). With some differences, the technical characteristics of the route resemble those of the Ponio-Dapaong road.
The beginning of the section pays particular attention to the exit of the city with an imposing platform in width. It also devotes various channels and networks (VRDs) to all the locations crossed. The site was opened at PK 00, located in much of the city centre because of an obstacle to the clearance of the right-of-way due to a problem of compensation of the residents.
While hoping that dialogue will prevail over these and the state, EBOMAF has embarked on its mission. The machines constantly fall under the direction of about 100 people who are aware of the activities of civil engineering while waiting for the reinforcements of the workforce as the work thus takes place. The general earthmoving progresses as planned. Three teams of topographers are at work for the delimitation of the track according to the dimensions and the determination of the levels of prescribed materials. The maintenance service is kept in check to provide the necessary assistance in case of technical inconvenience. The Battle of Mandouri will still present EBOMAF's immense expertise in the major works. Because reaching the drop point passes through large hills with their large boulders.
