EBOMAF-CI: a remarkable entry into the Ivorian BTP with a contract of 83 billion CFA francs for 136 Km of roads
Company Bonkoungou Mahamadou & Fils (EBOMAF) carried out in the most beautiful way, on Tuesday 11 August, its official entry into the major Ivorian works by a major development contract and the doubling of 136 km of roads for a total amount of 83 billion CFA francs.
The launch of this first market in Ivory Coast once again confirms the dynamism of this Burkinabe company in the BTP sector in West Africa.
The regions of Poro and Tcholgo are not in any way in the process of modernizing the Ivorian road network, which President Alassane Ouattara has printed since 2010. Their respective capitals, Korhogo and Ferkessédougou, vibrated successively on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the pace of the "Côte D This new page on road infrastructure development in the northern part of the country will be written by one of the West African leaders of Public Works: Bonkoungou Mahamadou Company & Fils (EBOMAF). After Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin and Guinea-Conakry, Ivory Coast relies on its expertise to build one hundred thirty-six (136) kilometres of roads.
"This project is part of a desire to create regional growth hubs in Korhogo and Ferkessédougou. It is a quality infrastructure that has been entrusted to a large reference company. We do not doubt for a moment that EBOMAS will write its letters of nobility in the Ivorian BTP from the execution of this project," said Patrick Achi, Minister of Economic Infrastructure.
The road project, Korhogo Airport Access and Ferkessédougou-Nassian-Kong, has an overall cost of CFAF 83 billion. He executes simultaneously on two fronts. The first concerns the development and bitumage of the Stade-Aéroport Karakoro (Korhogo) road of a length of fifteen (15) Km for six (6) billion CFA francs for a period of twelve (12) months. The second concerns the development and asphalting of the Ferkessédougou-Niasan-Kong road for a length of 121 Km for seventy-seven (77) billion CFA francs over a period of thirty-six (36) months. "The Ferkessédougou-Niasan-Kong project will enable a viable link to be established between the north-east of the country and the rest of the northern region of Ivory Coast.
The Ferké-Nassian road is a link in the road of Community interest CU 18 of the UEMOA area and also a Community road for the ECOWAS area," explains Abu Touré, Deputy Director General of the Road Management Agency (AGEROUTE).
As for the Stade-Aéroport Karakoro (Korhogo) section, its modernisation allows passengers of Air Côte D Because if Korhogo is about an hour away from Abidjan, the failure of the access road to his airport is a huge waste of time: it takes more than 30 minutes to travel the 15 km route. In addition to opening up the two regions concerned, the road project also includes a water management programme for agriculture and livestock. "It is a new day full of hope that points to the horizon. Progress cannot be a reality without practical roads.
It is a thorn that has just been taken off the bottom of the population," said Abdramane Soro, farmer in Karakoro. The first contract entered into by EBOMAF in Ivory Coast is based on a Public-Private Partnership. The financing of the project, amounting to CFAF 83 billion, is provided by the Ivorian Treasury and a financial package involving a consortium of banks led by Société Générale Burkina Faso (SGBF) and the contracting company.
An ideal partner for states
This innovation in mobilizing resources for the development of road infrastructure was welcomed by the Ivorian authorities. Thus was born EBOMAF-CI! Its President and CEO (PDG), Mahamadou Bonkoungou, is committed to taking up this new challenge by imposing as a major player of "emergence by 2020" that Alassane Dramane Ouattara promised to his compatriots.
An impressive deployment of personnel and equipment has already been observed at the construction sites. "We have all the capacity to go fast and well in the realization of any road project. We are going to hold the Inch-Allah bet," he said. The de-enclavement of the Poro and Tcholgo regions is part of the strengthening of integration between the Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Mali, Ghana and Guinea-Conakry. "The road is synonymous with shared wealth. No region will be marginalized from the progress maintained by the Head of State. In implementing the project, which brings us together in Korhogo and Ferkessédougou, we have relied on proven and recognized expertise in our subregion in road construction. To see already the human resources and the gears that are assigned to the works as soon as they begin, we are tempted to say how usual it is for us: There is no match!
The contracting company gives us the guarantees of a large company that destroys quality work. We have no reason to worry. We thank her already for her strong participation in the financial assembly. We will ensure that the infrastructure is carried out on time and in accordance with the rules of the art," said Daniel Kablan Duncan, Prime Minister, Minister of Economy, Finance and Budget. EBOMAF is currently conducting a dozen roadworks in West Africa.
The Head of Government led a strong delegation, including Ibrahim Ouattara, Minister responsible for Presidential Affairs, and Amadou Gbon Coulibaly, Secretary General of the Presidency, to the project's top start ceremonies in Korhogo and then in Ferkessédougou.
These gave rise to intense moments of communion with the beneficiary populations. The inhabitants of the Senufo country see in these launches the culmination of a long-awaited wish. Under the supervision of the National Bureau of Technical and Development Studies (BNETD), the current runways, Karakoro Airport Stadium (Korhogo) and Ferkessédougou-Nassian-Kong, will be transformed, respectively, in twelve (12) and thirty-six (36) months, into modern roads with the following characteristics: Roadway: 2X1 7 m track or 2X3.50 m, Sloping: 1.50 m in a raise countryside and 2.50 on crossing of agglomeration, Shape layer: 30 cm of natural gravel, Foundation layer: 20 cm of gravel, Base layer: 18 cm of serious bitumen (GB), Coating: 5 cm of bitumen concrete (BB).
"Since 2011, the Poro region has received special attention from President Alassane Ouattara. We are pleased that it is EBOMAF who is carrying out this work, especially since the volume and quality of the work already carried out elsewhere are very convincing and reassuring," said Amadou Gbon Coulibaly, deputy mayor of Korhogo and also Secretary General of the Presidency. "This launch is a manifestation of the government's interest in the people of Tcholgo," added Alain Hyacinthe Blidia Ouattara, Mayor of Ferkessédougou. The actions of the State are particularly remarkable and hailed on all sides in this part of the territory, especially since the road in the city of Korhogo is being restyled and the rehabilitation of the Ferkessédougou-Ouangolodougou axis was launched just a month ago. The development of road infrastructure is particularly booming. The entire road network has a down-truck so that all the regional and departmental capitals are accessible through modern roads.
