EBOMAF-TOGO: Rasmané Ouédraogo, Director of Work on Kanté-Tanjouaré: "EBOMAF has the means of its ambition"

As all the construction sites under EBOMAF's responsibility in Togo, the one in Kanté-Tandjouaré is progressing satisfactorily. The successful undertaking has concentrated part of its efforts to build a road infrastructure with the best standards on this part of the Togolese corridor. In only eight (8) months of work on the thirty-six (36) allocated, the construction manager, Rasmané Ouedraogo and his teams made a great move forward.

What are the different activities to be carried out as part of the rehabilitation of the Kanté-Tandjouaré section?

On this portion, it is planned to carry out the same work as is being completed on the Tandjouaré-Cinkanssé axis. The aim is to expand the platform, to set up a total of one hundred and eighty (180) structures, and to build a roadway in serious bitumen (GB) and bituminous concrete (BB) for a distance of one hundred and thirty (130) kilometres. The main tasks to be carried out are the preparation of the construction site, earthmoving, hydraulic works, signalling and equipment. The actual opening of the site dates from November 2013.

How is the development of the work on the site currently taking place?

Within a time limit of thirty-six (36) months, it is not to throw flowers away that to assert that it is a real feat that is realized in only eight (8) months of work. The Kanté-Tandjouaré yard was apprehended on two fronts from its ends. We started work both in Kanté and Tandjouaré. This testifies to the human, material and technical means that have been deployed on both sides. The summation of the cumulative works including a level of earthmoving of sixty (60) kilometres reached to date (NDLR: 1^andJuly 2014. Out of a total of 180 works planned, we have already achieved one hundred and nineteen (119), a rate of advancement of more than 66%. The application of the serious bitumen (GB) has even started from Kanté and already covers twenty-six (26) kilometers. Overall, the rehabilitation project for the Kanté-Tandjouare road has a 20% progress rate and a 21% delay consumption rate in eight (8) months.

What are the means you have to complete the work?

EBOMAF is one of the few BTP companies in the sub-region that has the means of its ambitions. His ability to perform all kinds of road works properly in a timely manner is undeniable. They meet all the challenges. The President and Chief Executive Officer of EBOMAF does not question the means to be used to hold all bets in a contract. Orders follow suit so that the company is at the cutting edge of technology. The projects it is responsible for in the various countries each benefit from considerable human and material assistance. Kanté-Tandjouaré's is not left behind. We have enough workers and equipment to carry out this project perfectly. More than five hundred (500) people are assigned only on this site. They rely on a varied range of several hundred last generation machines to carry out impeccable work. To this are added the installations for the exploitation of the crushing quarry (Kara), the concrete plants (Barkoissi, Kanté) and the coated (Kanté°).

How do you welcome the partnerships between EBOMAF and other leaders in the field of road works?

These partnerships reflect a vision that underpins EBOMAF's very leadership in the sub-region. Our relations with the Spaniards of Tecno Firmes specialized in the application of bitumen (GB and BB) are excellent. We are satisfied with their performance. The same applies to the laying of bridge piles or the maintenance and repair of equipment. Combining the know-how and expertise of world leaders in Public Works reinforces its reputation in the BTP. The various partnerships concluded here and there illustrate the desire of EBOMAF's CEO to promote the transfer of technology and skills to his company. EBOMAS thus displays the image of a large and experienced company.
