Rehabilitation of the Kantè-Tandjouaré section: The serious bitumen five months after the start of work

The rehabilitation of the Kanté-Tandjouaré section, on the RN 1 Togolese, has seen a significant progress since the start of the work on the 1standNovember 2013. The site displays indicators that demonstrate the perfect execution of this important road project aimed at better traffic to the Togolese corridor. The observation is there after only five months: the final stage of the bitumening is already taking place.

On the date 1andMarch 2014, nine (9) kilometres on the one hundred and thirty (130) of the Kanté-Tandjouaré section are already covered with serious bitumen (GB). This very important step has been taken thanks to the effectiveness of the working methodology which has enabled a large part of the civil engineering tasks to be carried out and on this second part of the RN 1 being rehabilitated by EBOMAF. According to the Director of Works, Rasmané Ouedraogo, the progress of the works is one month ahead of the physical planning.

KANTE-IIThis development in the construction site illustrates both the efforts made to make the work in time. It is exercised by a perfect mastery of the activities on this path which must be restyled as that of the Tandjouaré-Cinkansé axis. These include widening the platform, placing the works of art and sanitation in the template, building a ten-centimetre, ten-centimetre, heavy bitumen (GB) and five-centimetre, bituminous concrete (BB).

The expertise shown by the successful bidder is identical to that of Kantè-Tandjouaré. It is unanimously welcomed by users and people. The dynamism and skills of workers are based on the availability of state-of-the-art equipment."In terms of road construction, the rehabilitation of an old road is very difficult, technically speaking. This requires special attention since the reloading is done layer by layer, it must be in line with the materials of the existing pavement. It's a painstaking and annoying work."confided Edmond Bli, retired engineer, on vacation in Kantè.

KANTE-IOnly five months after its launch, the Kantè-Tandjouaré yard recorded these achievements: twenty-five (25) kilometres of impregnated cement ground, thirty-two (32) kilometres of extended track, forty-five (45) kilometres of laying on the first front from Kantè, more than twenty-two (22) kilometres of widening and extending bridges for the second front from Tandjouaré.

Work is planned to be completed within 36 months. The CEO of EBOMAF, Mahamadou Bonkoungou, does not do in lace so that the construction site reaches its end before the official deadline. As in all other construction sites, Kantè-Tandjouaré has a substantial material endowment.
