Refurbishment of Togo's national road 1: EBOMAF to help countries in the hinterland

In a few months, all the users of Togo's national road 1, the one linking it to Burkina Faso, will see EBOMAS in the middle of this sub-regional road. Its extensive degradation has required diligent measures for rehabilitation. Once again, the relevance of the Burkinabe Group's technically good and financially sustainable offers were its only advantages in granting this market to which African, European and Asian companies took part in the call for tenders. "There is no more secret to forge respect and consideration in a sector of activity than the results achieved on the ground. This is the best criterion for separating competitors," says Mahamadou Bonkoungou, CEO. From this logic which has always guided him in his affairs, results his victory in the BTP.

The opening on the hinterland countries will be consolidated with the rehabilitation of eighty (80) kilometres. This section, which extends from the border of Burkina Faso (Cinkansé) to Tandjoari, is expected to undergo extensive work over the next few months. This involves re-establishing the standards of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU). The aim is to develop a two-way roadway of seven (7) metres with 1.5 metres on both sides. This delicate task of opening the yard at the same time as the track is subject to traffic. This scenario will allow the company to work in one direction before attacking the other. "From the start of the work, we will set up a mechanism to alert users and draw their attention. Their cooperation depends on the proper operation of the construction site," recommends Hamado Kurba, the construction manager in Dapaong. Already, EBOMAF is about to put up double bites to undertake this work.

The decision to rehabilitate the Togolese national is a relief for the countries of the hinterland: Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger. This important axis to reach the port of Lomé is facing a deep dilapidation. Deep hen nests exacerbated the traffic difficulties associated with road erosion. This defective state is a real trap for carriers. Traffic got hit. Mobility is greatly slowed down. It is within a tortoise's pace that trucks must fight narrowly and divert holes with the risk of collusion or accident. The number of trucks overturned on the route gives frisions. EBOMAF has the heavy task of dealing with an emergency. The CEO, Mahamadou Bonkoungou, stands ready to assume this high responsibility to serve on this section several countries at the same time.

"It is an essential route for Togo and for Sahelian states. Its rehabilitation is a plus for sub-regional integration," says a Togolese authority. To announce its arrival on this stretch, EBOMAF is already trying to clog the chicken nests. This exercise requires the understanding of users who sometimes fail to comply with the requirements of workers at work. While this understanding and discipline are more than necessary to improve the way ahead of the start of work. The Ouagadougou-Lomé section is the first transnational route to host a border checkpoint in Cinkansé.
