Koudougou-Dédougou Road Building: Special attention to the environment
One of the challenges in implementing the NSR 14 development and construction project is the preservation and restoration of the environment. Downstream and upstream, this concern guided the work on this ambitious one-hundred-thirty (130) kilometre project. EBOMAF won this other challenge.
The modernization of the Koudougou-Dédougou axis is not only about building a two-lane road infrastructure with sidewalks. At the heart of this imperative is a set of requirements to which the conduct of the works lies throughout the route. The preservation and restoration of the environment occupy a prominent place in the execution of a road project which de-enclaves the regions of the West Centre and the Mouhoun Loop.
The avenue President Maurice-Yameogo requires a reforestation of eighty six (426) plants in the vicinity of this main artery of the city."Red Horseman".Taking advantage of the rainy season, this activity is already undertaken. Throughout the five (5) kilometres in the city of Koudougou, various species of plants are grounded and surrounded by grilling.
This concern to restore the environment will continue on the 100th (130) kilometers of RN 14. The development and construction project requires a reforestation of ten thousand (10,000) plants. In view of the immensity of this task, the main difficulty of which is the selection of the species and their availability to the nurseryists, the successful firm is in talks with the various actors to start the regeneration of the plant cover between Koudougou and Dédougou.
In its implementation, the plan of work attaches paramount importance to nature conservation. Trees shall be slaughtered only in case of extreme necessity. On the entire route, the legendary cailcedrats, which border the old track, are still in place. Strict respect for the environment in carrying out its work is part of EBOMAF's reputation and reputation. This adherence to ecological principles is evident in its attitude towards the classified forests of Tiogo and Tissé. These two natural heritages, in which any collection of aggregates is prohibited, have not undergone any"aggression"by the company.
It has overcome this ecological constraint thanks to its material capabilities. The granite used for the work has been transported since the Kombissiri quarry, some 30 kilometres south of Ouagadougou. An incessant back and forth of dump trucks ensured this valuable supply. The crushing was carried out on site thanks to an efficient installation. Despite this, the deadline (end of November 2013) is met. At four (4) months from this deadline, the Koudougou-Dédougou road is already ready for more than one hundred and one (101) kilometers on the one hundred and thirty (130). The remaining 20 kilometres will not stand up very long to the assaults of machines and technicians who are trying to shut down the construction site shortly.
