Construction of the Kossodo roundabout: A milestone for the future Donsin interchange

After demonstrating the talents of its technicians on the strategic bridge of the East-RN4 junction, EBOMAF is hitting a big blow in urban civil engineering by laying, through the Kossodo roundabout, the base of the future interchange leading to Donsin airport. This 90% concrete and bitumen masterpiece will help to fluidize traffic in the north-eastern part of the capital.

In a few days and the calvary of the inhabitants of Kossodo, leaving Ouagadougou to Ziniaré-Kaya-Dori will only be a bad and distant memory. EBOMAF is trying to deliver them a work of better circulation of which only this company has the secret.

As a task manager to carry out the development and construction of the section linking the east interchange to the national road 4, the company 100% pride of the BTP in Burkina Faso plays with conscience and professionalism its partition to improve urban traffic in the Burkina Faso capital.

Coming to an end without difficulty of the bridge yet perceived as a difficult technical equation by the civil engineering professionals, EBOMAF attacks a construction site, the Kossodo roundabout which his field team rightly considers as "a small game of technician" whose diligent realization is hampered by the strong and permanent circulation at the same time as the work is taking place. At this obstacle, Edouard Dakuo, a senior civil engineering technician working on the work, is optimistic that this nail of his company's mission will soon be delivered to this section.

" There's nothing bigger. The implementation rate currently exceeds 90%. The finish is knowingly delayed by bulky and frequent movements over the area. The latest adjustments are taken to initiate the very fast completion strategy of the project. It is only a matter of days or even hours for whom EBOMAF's strike force is known," he reassures.

However, the Kossodo roundabout represents a strategic work in the urban pattern of the capital. Its construction must meet the standards of erection of a future interchange in the new Donsin International Airport. It is therefore designed in a roundabout direction of a radius of 23 meters with four (4) primers coming in 7.5 meters wide each and three (3) turn straight 6.5 meters wide each. The continuity of the RN 4 over five hundred (500) meters in both directions (to the Silmande hotel and to Ziniaré) will experience a widening in two double lanes of 2X3.5 meters each with a central ground of 2.5 meters wide.

The construction of the roundabout meets standards based on material characteristics contained in the specifications whose strict observance always constitutes a priesthood for EBOMAF. The platform and foundation layer follow a 70% strength lift while the base layer is 110%. All these panels are made of borrowing materials, i.e., severe clays, improved laterite or crushed by 0/31.5. On Saturday 30 April, the work is 90% ready. Only the edges of the carriageway and the equipment of the giratory are expected in the next few days.

The edges of the giratory are already in place and the bordering work will follow shortly. In addition to coating, paving and embankment. Their conduct closely follows the altimeter level (the dimensions) whose geometric characteristics of the different layers are respected.

In order to bring about an improvement in the construction of the structure and to complete it as soon as possible, the team of technicians and workers working in the field agreed on a strategy of finishing without breaking the traffic very dense. It is a matter of fully completing one side of the building to open up to users and attack the other. Already, the whole roundabout is beautifully drawn.
