EBOMAF-CI: The Ferké and Kong fronts are in full swing
The modernization of the Ferkessédougou-Kong road has a certain embellishment. The two fronts at the ends of the section record a real swing down in the execution of the work. The main tasks of the NWG and BB are in full swing.

Always imitated but never matched, EBOMAF testifies, once again, to its ability to conduct large-scale work through the expression of adequate logistics to make a great show of its know-how. The entry into service of the ten (10) klinkers articulated on the Ferké-Kong yard gave real impetus to the execution of the works. The implementation of this ambitious road project in the North of the Ivory Coast was confronted with a problem of availability of aggregates, especially gravel, in Kong due to the remoteness of the granite plant from that locality. The quarry is currently more than 145 km away on the Ferké-Bouaké axis.

While waiting to soon set up a crushing site as well as GNT, BB and concrete power plants in Kong, EBOMAF has solved some of the difficulty of supplying the Kong front with aggregates. Each with a capacity of 132 tonnes, the ten articulated klinkers transport daily, on a single journey due to the defective condition of the road, to the final PK of the project a total of 13,200 tons of crushed 0/31.5 (GNT) stored for the base layer in Kong.

The balance of the availability of aggregates on both fronts of the project gave a good lead to the work on both sides of the axis. The Ferké front currently records 14 km of the rolling layer in BB, 17 km of base layer in GNT, 16 500 km of impregnation, 19 km of foundation layer in selected gravel and 29 km of platform. Kong also benefits from 5 Km of foundation layer in selected gravel, 27 Km from the platform. In a few days, this front will see the starting of the base layer in GNT and then the rolling layer in BB after the impregnation tasks.

Drilling and blasting follow one another on the rocky areas of the section. De-rocking operations are carried out simultaneously in Ferké and Kong on the right-of-way of the road before the platform is built. This symbiosis in the conduct of the project allows to establish a synergy of actions in the implementation of the project. Every day sees the 121Km being swallowed by bitumen.
